Genuine Horween Shell Cordovan
Sawyer is made with Genuine Shell Cordovan from Horween Leather Company in Chicago, USA. Taken from a specific, densely structured part of the horsehide, this leather undergoes Horween's specialist tanning and finishing process, which takes at least six months.
This carefully prepared material forms the foundation of Sawyer, complemented by Goodyear-welted construction and a whole-shoe washed finish.
Goodyear-Welted Construction
Sawyer uses Goodyear-welted construction, with a welt forming the connection between the shoe's upper assembly and outsole. The outsole is stitched to the welt, creating a construction that allows a qualified repairer to replace worn soles while retaining a serviceable upper.
Maintenance & Resoling
Resole suitability depends on the condition of the upper, welt and insole. Have the shoes assessed by a repairer experienced in Goodyear-welted footwear before arranging repairs.
Whole-Shoe Washed Finish
Sawyer undergoes a whole-shoe washing treatment as part of its finishing process. The treatment is applied to the assembled shoe, bringing a washed finish to the completed design.
Dark Slate colour, textured leather and a rounded plain-toe profile define its final appearance. Whole-shoe washing is a manufacturing treatment; it does not make the shoes waterproof or suitable for machine washing at home.
